About Us
With these antique objets, dating from the 16th to the 20th centuries, culled from the four corners of the world, Jean-Philippe Plourde along with his associate, Michele Morris an architect from New York City, have assembled an impressive collection gathered under the aegis of their company, Wabi Sabi Gang, working with interior architects and designers from many locations.
For many years, Jean-Philippe Plourde has crossed the globe in search of antique objects, vernacular and also modern, that are on display in Montreal, St-Ouen in Paris and in New York City. This curious world traveler, who has always been passionate about antiques and modern objects (which he also designs) started his life-long search for them when he was a young boy accompanying his mother and uncle, the late Canadian actor Jean-Marie Lemieux, as they searched for antique or vintage objects to serve as scenic decor for their family theater, the Théâtre du Bois de Coulonge in Québec.
For Jean-Philippe Plourde, the greatest source for antiquities in the world lays in Southeast Asia, where many treasures are also yet to be discovered. What matters most for him is the singularity of the object, the emotion it arouses, its imperfections and the soul it exudes, the true essence of Wabi Sabi. With this large collection of flagship objects, assembled over the years, it is with the greatest joy that you are invited to discover these wonders from other worlds and epochs.
